Plain Conversation

The state of journalism in Iowa is the topic of the next Plain Conversation on Thursday, March 7. The online educational forum sponsored by the Sioux County Democrats will stream live at 7 p.m. on the party’s Facebook page (facebook.com/siouxcountydemocrats) or via this Zoom link. Ty Rushing, a journalist with Iowa Starting Line, will discuss the impact of the loss of more than 2,000 American newspapers in the past decade—and the important role a credible and local press plays in protecting democracy. Following his presentation, Rushing will take questions from the audience submitted through the Sioux County Democrats Facebook page.
