About the Event
Tune in to Plain Conversation next Tuesday, Oct. 10, to hear Patrick O’Donnell, the former superintendent of the Sioux Center School District, discuss the consequences of the new “school choice” law passed by the Iowa Legislature last spring. The online forum will stream live at 7 p.m. on the Sioux County Democrats Facebook page (facebook.com/siouxcountydemocrats).
Iowa’s tax-funded Education Savings Accounts, which went into effect this fall, are expected to provide state funding to 42,000 private school students at a cost of $345 million per year. O’Donnell will share his research into the law’s effect on public education, its administration, and the oversight of tax dollars. Following his presentation, he’ll take questions from the audience submitted through the Sioux County Democrats Facebook page.
